Fireworks in the sky, it’s almost the 4th of July, and I have something to celebrate. Next week, I join T . Edward Wines as the Head Writer of Marketing & Social Media. And I am excited! Writing for their website and blog, handling Facebook and twitter, I’ll be crafting winemakers’ stories and scripting in-house marketing notes. It’s brilliant how this position came about. A big shout out to Brian for that! And funnily enough, it’s not just my love of writing and wine that brought me to TEW, but it’s also the fact that I used to race bikes with Team Comedy Central, and the folks of TEW are both riders and big fans of cycling!
In fact, I actually sold my Zipp wheels to pay for WSET courses, and so, circling to this new beginning is sweet. Once the site and blog are up and running, I’ll drop a line here, so one can check it out.
You can be sure that the coverage will include bikes.
How will it affect the blog? I’m not sure yet. For the next six weeks, I will be working two jobs, and training for the NYC marathon! So please excuse if the posts get thin. I might starting writing about beer, most especially the beers that I love because they drink in complexity like wine. And there’s always the bars and stores that sell them. Wine events and new wine bars to write about? That’s not going to stop. Just last night, I visited Hudson Clearwater, for a few drinks with Pat to toast my new position. It’s got sweet selection, awesome cocktails, a cool West Village garden, and a chef’s bar, all of which certainly require a revisit.
And so, on that note, I wish you a fabulous 4th! I know with certainty that I’ll be celebrating and drinking rosé!

Congrats!!
The wine industry is over-due ready for real engagement with their customer community. Good choice and lucky them for having you lead this.
Thanks SO much Arnold!!! I appreciate the good thoughts!!

I should have known you were a cyclist! You’ve got that physique! I USED to bike avidly with NYCC…but then life got in the way. I also love beer — and there are plenty of wine drinkers who don’t. You should join me sometime for one of those Homebrew Tours a friend of mine organizes. They’re lots of fun.
Anyway, nice seeing you yesterday at the Sinskey tasting (great stuff) and I’m looking forward to the T.Edwards tasting next week.
Ciao, Pat
Hey Pat! Now that you mention it…I did a few NYCC rides before I started racing (since retired), you DO look familiar from then! I’m a big fan of beer, so a homebrew tour sounds like a blast! Great to see you at the Sinskey tasting and I look forward to seeing you at our French Portfolio Tasting! Cheers! K
